Overview

[text_block style=”style_1.png” align=”left”]Early on in the course we talked about being aware that you have a work life balance problem. This is outward awareness of the things going on around you.

Then there is the inward awareness, AKA self-awareness. This is being aware and understanding your own needs, habits, desires, failings and anything else that makes you tick. Essentially the more you pay attention to your emotions and feelings the better you’ll understand why you do the things you do.

Being aware both inward and outward is just the first step…

Next is understanding the role your inner critic plays. The inner critic is that voice inside your head that acts like a super computer and just seems to operate with a heightened awareness in all areas. It’s the voice that manages to magnify all our faults and shortcomings.

At the end of the day the way you speak to yourself, the voice in your head coming from your inner critic, chances are you would never dream of speaking to anyone else like that. So why talk to yourself like this?

The key is not to ignore the inner critic, but to listen to what it’s saying and taking the likely overly harsh comments and flip the switch. Turn this into constructive criticism so you can make the necessary improvements in your life.

Just remember to tone down what you tell yourself at first as if you directly follow what the inner critic is telling you, you’ll likely see too bigger mountain to climb when it comes to making the change. One of the biggest reasons people fail is they try to make to bigger change all at once and this just ends in giving up, don’t let this happen to you.[/text_block]
